Governor Abbott Vetoes House Bill 1855 (84R)
Pursuant to Article IV, Section 14, of the Texas Constitution, I, Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, do hereby disapprove of and veto House Bill No. 1855 as passed by the Eighty- Fourth Texas Legislature, Regular Session, because of the following objections:

I want to be clear that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) can recognize an ad valorem tax exemption under Chapter 11 of the Tax Code for a property that complies with, or prevents the applicability of, a federal environmental rule without conceding the legality or policy merits of the federal rule.
House Bill 700 Becomes Law (84R)
Tuition set-asides subsidize the education of some students at the cost of all, and should be eliminated as provided by House Bill No. 700.
