Governor Abbott Appoints Agarwal To Product Development And Small Business Incubator Board

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Arun Agarwal to the Product Development and Small Business Incubator Board for a term set to expire February 1, 2019. The Product Development Fund and Small Business Incubator Fund, collectively PDSBI, are revolving loan programs administered by the Office of the Governor, Texas Economic Development Bank, under the oversight of a nine-member board appointed by the Governor. The PDSBI Fund provides financing to aid in the development, production, and commercialization of new or improved products and to foster small business within the State of Texas.

Arun Agarwal of Dallas is CEO of Nextt which manufactures home textiles, garments, apparel fabrics and polyester yarns. His company is the market leader in home textiles. He is a board member for Gift for Life, board member for the US-India Chamber of Commerce DFW, honorary advisory board member for Indian American Friendship Council, and member of the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce. Agarwal volunteers his time with CHETNA which assists South Asian victims of domestic violence, and Living Dreams Foundation which empowers artisans to become future business leaders. He received the 2015 NRI Entrepreneur of the Year award by the Times Now, the 2014 Outstanding Entrepreneur award by the Indian American Friendship Council, the 2013 Minority Business Leader award by the Dallas Business Journal, and the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year award by the US-India Chamber of Commerce DFW. Agarwal received a Bachelor of Science from Maharajas College in Jaipur, India. He received a Master of Business Administration from the Institute of Management Technology at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, and a Master of Science in computer information systems from the University of New Hampshire.
