Governor Abbott Reappoints Beck As Public Counsel For The Office Of Public Insurance Counsel
Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Deeia Beck of Austin public counsel for the Office of Public Insurance Counsel for a term set to expire February 1, 2017. The office represents the interests of insurance consumers in regulatory matters relating to insurance rates, rules and forms.
Deeia Beck is the current public counsel for the Office of Public Insurance Counsel, a position she has held since her appointment in September 2008. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Travis County Bar Association and the American Bar Association and a life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Tarrant County Bar Foundation. She is a board member of the Texas Certified Self-Insurer Guaranty Association and the Texas Self Insurance Guaranty Fund. Additionally, she is a member of the Baylor Law Alumni Association and the Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation and past president of the Lakehouse Homeowners’ Association. Beck received a Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from Baylor University.
