Governor Abbott Names Jenkins Chair Of Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board

Governor Greg Abbott today named Bobby Jenkins of Austin chairman of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for a term set to expire at the pleasure of the Governor. Jenkins has served as vice chairman since September 2013. The Higher Education Coordinating Board provides leadership and coordination for the Texas higher education system.

Bobby Jenkins is president of ABC Home and Commercial Services. He is a board member and past chairman of the Better Business Bureau Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse and the Alzheimer’s Association, chairman of the Austin American Heart Association, and board member of United Way of Austin. Currently, he serves on the Agricultural Development Council and Mays Business School Development Council at Texas A&M University. He is the co-founder and board chairman of Recognize Good and past chairman and board member of Austin Gives. Additionally, he is past chairman of the Austin Chamber of Commerce and Caritas of Austin, past president of both the Texas and National Pest Management Associations, and past tri-chairman for the bond oversight committee with Austin Independent School District. Jenkins received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University.
