Governor Abbott Visits The Taj Mahal And Meets With Business Leaders From Uttar Pradesh

Governor Greg Abbott and First Lady Cecilia Abbott today visited the Taj Mahal, one of the world’s most admired architectural masterpieces and most visited destinations, in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India.

“How fitting that as we near the last days of this exciting and fruitful trip to India, we visit the Taj Mahal, the jewel of India. It is truly one of the great wonders of the world,” said Governor Abbott. “I am honored by the warm welcome we have received from the people of India on every stop of this trip. It is my hope that the true friendship of the people of Texas and India endures with the strength and beauty of this magnificent architectural wonder. ”

Following his visit to the Taj Mahal, Governor Abbott then met with a number of senior business and education leaders from across Uttar Pradesh, to discuss the importance of trade and economic collaboration between Texas and India.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to meet with so many prominent leaders, and I thank them for their warm welcome," said Governor Abbott.

On this fourth international trade mission since taking office, Governor Abbott has met with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and other officials from the Indian government, as well as CEOs and company executives to encourage further business development and investment in Texas, and to deepen the already strong trade relationship between Texas and India.
