Governor Abbott Appoints McNabb To Texas Racing Commission

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Connie (Couch) McNabb, D.V.M. to the Texas Racing Commission for a term set to expire February 1, 2021. The commission oversees pari-mutuel wagering on horse and greyhound racing.

Connie (Couch) McNabb, D.V.M. of Montgomery is retired after over 30 years of veterinary experience, including 3 years as the chief veterinarian for the Texas Racing Commission. In addition to Veterinary practice, she served in various roles and positions with the United States Air Force, Texas Air National Guard and the Texas State Guard. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae, a life member of the National Guard Association of the United States, National Guard Association of Texas, Military Officers Association of America, Enlisted Association of the National Guard, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. McNabb received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University and completed the Governor’s Executive Development Program at The University of Texas at Austin L.B.J. School of Public Affairs. Additionally, she earned a Graduate Certificate from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University for nonprofit management. Her military professional education included Joint Forces Staff College, Air War College, Air Command and Staff College, and the Squadron Officer School.
