Governor Abbott Attends Luncheon With Mexico State Officials And Governors

Governor Greg Abbott today attended a luncheon hosted by Mexico Secretary of Foreign Affairs Claudia Ruiz Massieu Salinas to discuss trade, economic development and the many ways Texas and Mexico can continue to strengthen their relationship.

“Today's meeting was an important first step on the trip by providing a platform to share ideas and ways in which Texas and Mexico can continue to build upon our relationship," said Governor Abbott. "Trade, energy and expanding economic opportunity were just a few of the areas in which both sides had productive discussions.

"I  extend my gratitude to Mexico Secretary of Foreign Affairs Claudia Ruiz Massieu Salinas for hosting today's luncheon, and I look forward to continuing the dialogue and finding ways Texas and Mexico can further strengthen our bond."

Following today's luncheon, Governor Abbott will be attending a reception this evening with CEOs and business leaders across Mexico to discuss ways to promote and expand economic opportunity on both sides of the border. The reception will be hosted by hosted by Mexico Secretary of Foreign Affairs Claudia Ruiz Massieu Salinas.
