Governor Greg Abbott has appointed 10 student regents to their respective universities for terms effective on June 1, 2016, and expiring on May 31, 2017. Gov. Abbott also appointed a student representative to serve on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Lindsey Shelley of Fort Worth is pursuing a Master of Science in nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner program from Midwestern State University. She received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Midwestern State University.

Chad Huckaby of Nacogdoches is pursuing a Master of Science in mathematical sciences from Stephen F. Austin State University. He received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and political science from Stephen F. Austin State University.
