Governor Abbott Appoints Three To Texas County And District Retirement System Board Of Trustees
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Chris Davis and William “Bill” Metzger and reappointed Deborah Hunt to the Texas County and District Retirement System Board of Trustees for terms to expire December 31, 2021. The board exists to provide Texas County and district employees with retirement, disability and survivor benefits.
Chris Davis of Alto is county judge for Cherokee County. He previously served the county as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2 and as municipal judge for the City of Alto. He is a member of the Texas County Judge and Commissioners Association and the Texas Association of Counties. Additionally, he is a board member of the East Texas Regional Water Planning Group, East Texas Council of Government and the East Texas Regional Review Committee. Davis received a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences and a Master of Public Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University.
William “Bill” Metzger of Sunnyvale is Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, Place 2 in Dallas County. He is also owner and general manager of Metzger Awards in Mesquite. He is a board member and former chairman of the Mesquite Credit Union Board of Directors and formerly served on the Dallas Community College Board of Trustees. Additionally, he is a coach and board member for several local youth sports organizations and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 13158 and the Hispanic Forum of Mesquite. Metzger received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Dallas and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Deborah Hunt of Georgetown is the Williamson County Tax Assessor-Collector. She is a member of the Tax Assessor-Collectors Association of Texas, International and Texas associations of Assessing Officers, Texas Association of Appraisal Districts, Williamson County Investment Committee and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Registration and Titling Advisory Committee. She is a board member of the Williamson Central Appraisal District and a past member of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Property Tax Advisory Committee and North Austin Woman's Club. Hunt attended Trenton State College, now The College of New Jersey.
