Governor Abbott Appoints Three to Lavaca-Navidad River Authority

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Sandy Johs and has reappointed Scott Sachtleben and Ronnie Kubecka to the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority for terms set to expire May 1, 2021.

Sandy Johs of LaWard is currently retired. Previously she was co-owner of Johs Welding and Machine. Mrs. Johs is a Jackson County Appraisal Review Board member. She is also a youth leader and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Lolita and a volunteer for the Deutschburg Community Club.

Scott Sachtleben of Ganado is currently manager of Atzenhoffer Pro Shop in Victoria and also runs a cattle operation on his land. He is a board member of the Jackson County Cattle Raisers Association and a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen. He is a volunteer for CASA in Jackson County and president of the finance committee at First United Methodist Church in Edna. Sachtleben received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a focus on business from Texas Tech University.

Ronnie Kubecka of Deutschburg Community is currently the owner and operator of R.E.K. Farms and Range Land Services. He is a member of Texas Farm Bureau, Texas Water Conservation Association, Jackson County Cattle Raisers Association and the Texas Desalination Association. He is also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Edna and trustee of the Deutschburg Community Club. Kubecka attended Texas A&M University.
