Governor Abbott Appoints Romano To State Securities Board
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Miguel Romano, Jr. of Austin to the State Securities Board for a term set to expire January 20, 2021. The State Securities Board registers securities offered and sold in Texas and oversees the firms and individuals selling securities or providing investment advice to Texans.
Miguel Romano, Jr. is the Senior Business Development and Lending Officer for American Bank in Austin. Romano is a McBee Fellow of the Austin Area Research Organization, mentor for The University of Texas System Archer Center in Washington, D.C., and a trustee of Dell Children’s Trust of Central Texas. He is a member of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee, Northwest Austin Civic Association Board of Directors, Seton Healthcare Family Finance Committee and the Ronald McDonald House Charities Central Texas Community Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium Advisory Council, FuturoFund, National Center for Missing & Exploited Children Gala Committee, PeopleFund Austin Advisory Committee and The University of Texas Subiendo Academy Advisory Council. Romano received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication from Florida State University, Master of International Business from the University of Florida, and a master’s degree in Finance from Technológico de Monterrey.
