Governor Abbott Appoints Richards And Shah To Manufactured Housing Board
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Ronald M. “Ronnie” Richards for a term set to expire January 31, 2017 and Kiran Shah for a term set to expire January 31, 2019 to the Manufactured Housing Board. The Manufactured Housing Board regulates the manufactured housing industry in Texas.
Ronnie Richards of Clear Lake Shores is co-owner of Butler’s Courtyard, a wedding and reception venue in League City’s Historic District. Richards retired after a 45 year career as vice president of marketing for American Homestar Corporation. He is president of the Clear Lake Shores Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors and serves on the League City Hotel Occupancy Tax Advisory Board. Additionally, he is active in the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce and is past president of the League City Historical Society. Richards received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston.
Kiran Shah of Richmond is an independent owner and operator of multiple national hotel franchises. He is a member of the Hotel and Lodging Association of Houston and former member of the Texas Board of Licensure for Professional Medical Physicists. He is a former ambassador of the Asian American Hotel Owners’ Association and former commissioner of the Houston Clean City Commission. Additionally, he is the past vice chair of the Sardar Patel Cultural Club and past secretary of the Gujarati Samaj of Houston. Shah received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the M.S. University of Baroda, India and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Gujarat, India.
