Governor Abbott Appoints Pittman To Second Court Of Appeals
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Mark Pittman to the Second Court of Appeals for a term set to expire December 31, 2018, or until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
Mark Pittman of Fort Worth is judge of the 352nd Judicial District Court in Tarrant County. He previously served as an enforcement attorney for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, past senior attorney for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Dallas Regional Office and past assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Tarrant County Bar Association, Texas Bar Foundation and the American Judges Association. He is vice president and a founding member of the Tarrant County Federalist Society, associate and master for the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court and a past gubernatorial appointee to the Texas Radiation Advisory Board. Additionally, he is a member of the Tarrant County Volunteer Attorney Services Committee, Fort Worth Civic Society and the St. Patrick Cathedral Knights of Columbus. Pittman received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law.
