Governor Abbott Appoints Melendez Presiding Officer Of Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Susan Melendez of El Paso presiding officer of the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority for a term set to expire February 1, 2017. The Regional Mobility Authority is a political subdivision created to finance, acquire, design, construct, operate, maintain, expand or extend transportation projects.
Susan Melendez is senior vice president of investor relations at The Borderplex Alliance, a regional non-profit organization dedicated to economic development and prosperity in the Cd. Juárez, El Paso, and southern New Mexico region. She is current secretary of the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority, board trustee for The Hospitals of Providence-Memorial and Sierra Campus and member of the University of Texas at El Paso College of Business Advisory Council. Additionally, she is a past board member of Project ARRIBA and the YUCCA Council of Boy Scouts and past member of the YWCA El Paso Board of Directors. Melendez received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso and is a certified public accountant.
