Governor Abbott Appoints Ginn Chief Administrative Law Judge
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Lesli Ginn of Austin as Chief Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) for the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH), effective May 1, 2016. The Chief ALJ oversees SOAH, which is a forum for the conduct of adjudicative hearings in the executive branch of state government.
Lesli Ginn is chief of the Financial Litigation and Charitable Trusts Division in the Texas Attorney General’s Office, where she has served for 10 years and represented state agencies in state and federal district court, state and federal courts of appeals, and before the Texas Supreme Court. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is chair of its Administrative and Public Law Section. Additionally, she is a youth basketball coach at the YMCA of Austin and a past board member of Caporal Assistance Network. Ginn received a Bachelor of Science from Texas State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center.
