Governor Abbott Appoints Four To Appraisal Management Companies Advisory Committee

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Angelica Saldana Guerra and James “Tony” Pistilli to the Appraisal Management Companies Advisory Committee for terms set to expire on January 31, 2018. The Governor also reappointed Lawrence McNamara and Sara Jones Oates to the committee for terms set to expire on January 31, 2017. The committee advises the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board and makes recommendations on matters relating to the regulation of appraisal management companies. 

Angelica Saldana Guerra of Sugar Land is the senior paralegal for the Minute Maid Business Unit of The Coca-Cola Company. She possesses over 10 years of experience in litigation and contract management, marketing, advertising and consumer law. She is a member of the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Javelina Alumni Association Board of Directors, Lone Star College System Board of Directors and the Minute Maid Grand Slam for Youth Baseball Scholarship Selection Committee. She also serves as a mentor for the Fort Bend Juvenile Detention Center and is a CASA Volunteer with Child Advocates of Fort Bend. Guerra earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

James “Tony” Pistilli of North Richland Hills is vice president and chief appraiser of Xome Settlement Services. He has over 25 years of real estate appraising and lending experience and has provided compliance and regulatory assessments to financial institutions, regulatory agencies and appraisal management companies. He is an Appraiser Qualifications Board certified Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice instructor and holds a certified residential appraisers license. Pistilli received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Augsburg College.

Sara Jones Oates of Austin is president of Total Appraisal Management and Review and is a certified general real estate appraiser and licensed real estate broker. She is an associate member of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers and treasurer of the Foundation Appraisers Coalition of Texas. Oates received a Bachelor of Arts in government from The University of Texas.

Lawrence “Larry” McNamara of Dallas is an attorney in private practice. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association (ABA), ABA Computer Law Committee, Dallas Bar Association, and a fellow of the Dallas Bar Association Foundation. He is also a member of the Lake Forest Community Association Residential Architectural Review Committee. McNamara received a Bachelor of Arts in English, history and government from Illinois College and a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School.
