Governor Greg Abbott Appoints Three To Texas Real Estate Commission

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed R. Scott Kesner, Barbara Russell, and Jason Hartgraves to the Texas Real Estate Commission for terms set to expire on January 31, 2025. The commission's primary purpose is to protect the public in its dealings with real estate brokers and salespersons.

Scott Kesner of El Paso is President and Broker of Century 21 The Edge. He is a past president of Texas Association of Realtors and of Greater El Paso Association of Realtors. Additionally, he is a member of National Association of Realtors and El Paso Del Norte Women’s Council of Realtors. Scott received a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Sul Ross State University.

Barbara Russell of Denton is Broker and Owner of Barbara Russell, Realtors, Inc. She is a member of Texas Association of Realtors and Greater Denton/Wise County Association of Realtors. Additionally, she is a member of the Denton County Master Gardener Association.  Russell completed real estate courses at the University of North Texas and has received several real estate certifications.

Jason Hartgraves of Frisco is Chief Deputy for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department. He is a member of the FBI National Academy Associated and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Association. He is a former member of the Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority and of the One Call Board of Texas. Hartgraves is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the FBI National Executive Institute. He received a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Science in management from Texas A&M University Commerce.
