Governor Abbott Declares State of Disaster In Rio Grande Valley Following Severe Flooding
AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today declared a state of disaster in Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy Counties following severe flooding that caused widespread property damage to the area. The state of Texas is currently working with local officials to ensure all resources necessary are being provided to these counties.
“The state of Texas is doing everything it can to ensure these three counties have the resources they need to respond to these storms,” said Governor Abbott. “I ask that all Texans join me and Cecilia in praying for those impacted by severe flooding. By working closely with local officials, we will put the communities of the Rio Grande Valley on a path to recovery.”
