Governor Abbott Appoints Tarlton-Shannon and Kuebler To Board Of Pilot Commissioners For Galveston County Ports

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Terrilyn Tarlton-Shannon and reappointed Charles “Fritz” Kuebler to the Board of Pilot Commissioners for Galveston County Ports for terms set to expire on February 1, 2023. The board has exclusive jurisdiction over the piloting of vessels on navigable streams wholly or partially located in the board’s jurisdiction.

Terrilyn Tarlton-Shannon of Galveston is the owner of Insurance Junction, Inc. and a former Galveston City Council Member. She is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas and Professional Insurance Agents of Texas. Additionally, she is a board member of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce, past president of Galveston Friends of Business, and past chair of the Galveston Planning Commission. Tarlton-Shannon attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she studied business.

Charles “Fritz” Kuebler of League City is a member of the Institutional Preparedness team at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Previously, he was a commissioned officer with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for 20 years. He is a member of the Unites States Naval Institute, Surface Navy Association, USCG Academy Alumni Association, National Eagle Scout Association, and Emergency Management Association of Texas. In addition, he is active with Boy Scout Troop 603 in League City and serves as an interviewer and volunteer for the Princeton Schools Committee and the United States Coast Guard Academy Admissions Partner program. Kuebler received a Bachelor of Science in Management from the United States Coast Guard Academy and a Master's of Public Policy from Princeton University.
