Governor Abbott Appoints Massey To Aerospace And Aviation Advisory Committee

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Shannon Massey to the Aerospace and Aviation Advisory Committee for a term set to expire on September 1, 2021. The committee assists in the state’s economic development efforts to recruit and retain aerospace and aviation jobs and investments in Texas.

Shannon Massey of Canyon is vice president of assembly operations for Bell, which includes the company’s commercial and military aircraft delivery center in Amarillo. Shannon is a board member of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, co-chair for the West Texas A&M University Path to 125 intellectual resources committee, and a board member of the United Way of Amarillo and Canyon. Additionally, she is a member of the Society of Women Engineers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, American Helicopter Society, American Chemical Society, and American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Massey received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University.
