Governor Abbott Appoints Francis Judge Of The 283rd Judicial District Court

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Livia Francis as judge of the 283rd Judicial District Court in Dallas County for a term set to expire December 31, 2018, or until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
 
Livia Francis of Coppell is an attorney in private practice, and previously served as the chief of the Misdemeanor Division of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and as the presiding judge of Criminal District Court No. 7 in Dallas County. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a former member of the Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Criminal Defense Bar, and the Texas District & County Attorney Association. Additionally, she is a member of Volunteer Now Board of Directors and the Coppell Texas Exes, board member of New Hope of China, and former board member and scholarship chair for the Dallas Texas Exes. Francis received a Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor degree from Houston School of Law.
