Governor Abbott Appoints Castañeda To Texas Commission Of Licensing And Regulation

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Nora Castañeda to the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation for a term set to expire on February 1, 2025. The commission oversees the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Nora Castañeda of Harlingen is a physician relations manager and in business development for the South Texas Health System, which includes Edinburg Regional Hospital, Edinburg Children’s Hospital, McAllen Medical Center Hospital, and the Heart Clinic. She is a former gubernatorial appointee to the Advisory Council on Emergency Medical Services and the Texas State Technical College Board of Regents. She is presently serving on Texas State’s Business Development Board and is a former member of the Texas State Alumni Board of Directors, Texas State Hispanic Alumni Board, Harlingen Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, and Texas State Hispanic Alumni Board. Castañeda received a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Science in education from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi.

This appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
