Governor Abbott Appoints Adams To First Court Of Appeals

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Terry Adams to the First Court of Appeals for a term set to expire on December 31, 2020, or until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified.

Terry Adams of Houston is an attorney and owner of The Law Office of Terry Adams. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas Court Rules Committee – Appellate Sub-Committee, Texas Supreme Court Historical Society, The Federalist Society, The Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit, and the Advisory Counsel for the South Texas Law Review. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, and its following Sections: Appellate, Litigation, Business Law, Corporate Counsel, Consumer, and Commercial Law, and member of the Houston Bar Association and its Appellate Section and Litigation Section. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and Houston Bar Foundation and a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. . Adams received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Denison University and a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law Houston, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the South Texas Law Review. After law school, he served as a Briefing Attorney at the Texas Supreme Court for Justice Raul A. Gonzalez.
