First Lady Cecilia Abbott Addresses Hood County Children’s Charity Fund Luncheon
First Lady Cecilia Abbott today addressed the Hood County Children’s Charity Fund at their Inaugural “Yellow Envelope” Luncheon.
“Each of us has a gift that we can share with others, and I am awed by how many children’s lives have been made better because of the generosity of the Hood County Children’s Charity Fund,” said First Lady Abbott. “Whether it is new clothes for school, a warm coat for the winter, assistance with medical costs, or a scholarship to college, your generosity is genuinely helping the children of Hood County – and every child in Texas deserves the chance to succeed.”
The Hood County Children’s Charity Fund is a local nonprofit that was established in 1985, originally to provide warm coats for winter to local children in need. Over the last 30 years, the Fund has expanded its mission and provides additional assistance such as clothing, food, assistance with medical costs, and scholarships.
