Beat the Heat

August 14, 2019

August is a busy time of year. It means back to school, end of summer, and hot temperatures!

During this time, it is important to be mindful of electricity usage and take a few simple steps to reduce our shared impact. The Public Utility Commission has a useful website featuring energy-saving tips for your home and business and I encourage you to check out PowerToSaveTexas.org.

I’ll be taking extra care to make sure lights are turned off and appliances are unplugged while not in use. And making sure I find a fan to keep cool air circulating!

Please also remember to look out for neighbors- the spike in temperatures can especially affect the elderly. Check in with those around you to make sure they know ways to beat the heat.

Between energy conservation and our caring for our communities, I know Texans will come together to make August just a little bit “cooler”.
