April is National Volunteer Month
April is National Volunteer Month. For many years, I have volunteered with Meals on Wheels and I was honored to accept the Community Award from Meals on Wheels Texas yesterday.
Delivering these warm meals has become more than a way to give back, I have gained many friends along the way. Visiting the seniors in my community is always the highlight of my week.
Volunteerism isn’t just about completing a task or fulfilling a need. It connects us to the people and places around us.
My hope is that this month and every month, we can all find ways to give of our time and resources to create a lasting and positive impact on our great state.
