Governor Abbott Orders Capitol Flags To Be Flown Half-Staff In Honor Of Fallen Dyess Air Force Base
Governor Greg Abbott today ordered the flags on the Texas Capitol building to be lowered to half-staff in honor of the lives and public service of four Airmen from Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, TX who lost their lives in a plane crash in Afghanistan.
“Texans revere the men and women who put their lives on the line each day to protect and serve our freedom, our communities and our nation,” said Governor Abbott. “These valiant airmen, who wore the uniform with honor and so tragically paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, are deserving of our thoughts, our prayers and our utmost gratitude. As such, the flags on the state capitol building should be lowered to half-staff in honor of the legacy and memory of these courageous Airmen.”
