WEB VIDEO: Texanthropy Is Texans Helping Texans
The Office of First Lady Cecilia Abbott today released a video highlighting her Texanthropy initiative promoting volunteerism and service to others across Texas. The video features Mrs. Abbott’s volunteer work with Meals on Wheels Texas and Habitat for Humanity. Mrs. Abbott launched Texanthropy in April and has since engaged with communities, nonprofits and service organizations throughout the Lone Star State to help elevate the importance and significance of volunteerism.
“Through Texanthropy, I will work with Texans all across our great state to make a difference through service and volunteering,” Mrs. Abbott says in the video. “I hope you will join me in elevating the importance of volunteerism and service to others. With your help, I know we can work together to help enrich the lives of all Texans through Texanthropy.”
Today, Mrs. Abbott spoke about her Texanthropy initiative at the second Texas Nonprofit Summit in Edinburg. The Rio Grande Valley Summit is the second of three in the 2016 Texas Nonprofit Summit Series co-hosted by the OneStar Foundation and local partners. Mrs. Abbott will address the final summit in Lubbock on September 15th.
