Governor Greg Abbott today released a statement following the crash a C-130J in Afghanistan that resulted in the death of four Airmen from Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas:

“Today’s news of the death of eleven people – including four airmen out of Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas - is heartbreaking,” said Governor Abbott. “On behalf of the entire State of Texas, Cecilia and I extend our deepest condolences and gratitude to the families of these American heroes who died in service to our great nation. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with their friends and families during this difficult time.”
