April 25, 2018 | Austin, Texas | Press Release

Governor Greg Abbott today joined energy industry leaders from across the United States at the 2018 Texas Alliance of Energy Producers Expo and Annual Meeting in Wichita Falls, TX. This annual event brings together nearly 2,600 independent oil and gas producers and service and drilling companies. The expo also serves as a showcase for the latest energy sector equipment, technology and services.

“Texas is the proud home of largest independent oil and gas association in the nation,” said Governor Abbott. “As we continue to lead the nation in oil and gas production, the independent producers remain the beating heart of that success. I look forward to continuing to work together by exploring new resources, developing new innovative technologies, and ensuring that Texas remains the energy and economic engine of America.”

Independent oil and gas producers are responsible for drilling 96% of wells, and producing 88% of the oil and gas in Texas. The oil and gas industry has experienced growth for 15 straight months and provided over 215,000 jobs for Texans.

Created in 2000, the Texas Alliance Of Energy Producers represents the oil and gas industry at both the state and federal levels of government. The Alliance has a combined membership of over 3,350 members, and is the largest state independent oil and gas association in the nation. Their membership represents 300 cities and 29 states for the purpose of protecting the oil and gas industry and developing insurance and public education programs.
