Governor Abbott Statement On Senate School Finance Bill
Governor Greg Abbott today issued a statement following the filing of SB4, the Senate school finance reform bill by Senator Larry Taylor:
This session, we will solve one of Texas’ most pressing challenges by reforming our broken school finance system and developing a model that creates a brighter and more promising future for our children. With two pivotal school finance bills filed, we have an opportunity over the next several months to achieve meaningful school finance reform in Texas. I thank Senator Taylor for his leadership in filing this bill, as well as his tireless work on the school finance commission. I look forward to working with him, Lt. Governor Patrick, Speaker Bonnen, Chairman Huberty, and the entire legislature to reform the education system in Texas.
