Governor Abbott Hosts Second Education Roundtable At Solar Preparatory School For Girls

Governor Greg Abbott today visited Dallas, Texas, where he hosted his second roundtable discussion focused on improving education across the state. During the roundtable, the Governor and local elected officials heard from educators and administrators at the Solar Preparatory School for Girls on potential solutions for issues facing Texas schools.

“We can and we must do more to improve education in Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “Our goal is to set the course for the future of our students, and by working with teachers and administrators we can fulfill our joint obligation to ensure the next generation is more educated than the last. The ideas discussed today will help lawmakers in Austin develop better strategies that will lead to better results for education in Texas.”

Today’s event is the second of two education roundtables hosted by Governor Abbott. Yesterday, Governor Abbott visited Church Hill Middle School discussed the issues in New Braunfels, Texas, where he discussed issues including teacher pay, early education, special education, school finance and school safety.
