Governor Abbott Attends 19th Annual Indo-American Chamber Of Commerce Of Greater Houston Gala
Governor Greg Abbott today joined the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH) for their 19th annual gala. The event celebrated the IACCGH's 19 years of service for the Indo-American Business Community in Houston and dedication to facilitating commerce between Texas and India.
“The Indo-American Chamber Of Commerce continues to play a vital role in the economic success of not only Houston, but the entire state of Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “For 19 years they have helped the small business community thrive in Houston and inspired the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders, all while fostering stronger ties between Texas and India. Through our continued relationship with the Indo-American Chamber Of Commerce, the partnership between Texas and India will grow even stronger.”
In March, Governor Abbott led a nine-day business development mission in India. The visit included a number of meetings with business leaders, industry executives, and Indian government officials, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to help promote greater economic and trade relationships between India and Texas. Of all 50 states, Texas is the 2nd largest exporter of goods to India and the 4th largest importer of Indian goods.
The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston was established in 1999, and serves as the voice of the Indo-American Business Community of Greater Houston. The IACCGH is a vehicle of economic empowerment for the local businesses, educating and enabling minority business owners to understand and benefit from programs targeted at small and medium enterprises.
