Governor Abbott Announces Senior Staff Departure
Governor Greg Abbott today announced the departure of his Senior Advisor and Policy Director, John Colyandro, from the Office of the Governor. Colyandro joined the Office of the Governor in October of 2017, and was instrumental in ensuring the passage of critical legislation, including property tax reform and school finance, in this most recent legislative session. Colyandro is an advisor to the Governor on a host of issues affecting the state of Texas, and he will continue to advise the Governor on policy issues going forward.
“John is a tireless advocate for advancing conservative policies in the State of Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “The transformative property tax and school finance reform legislation we achieved during the 86th session would not have been possible without his leadership and guidance. Texas is better today because of John’s service, and he will continue to work to advance strategies that will make Texas even better.”
