Governor Abbott Addresses Lone Star Legislative Summit In Nacogdoches
Governor Greg Abbott today addressed the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce's Lone Star Legislative Summit at Stephen F. Austin State University. During the event, the Governor thanked business and community leaders in attendance for the important role they play in East Texas and in contributing to the continuing economic momentum of the Lone Star State.
“Thanks to the efforts of the Nacogdoches County Chamber Of Commerce and so many Chambers across our state, Texas remains the economic engine of America,” said Governor Abbott. "The beating heart of our economy are the small businesses like so many here in Nacogdoches and across East Texas. I know that if we continue to foster a pro-business climate that allows entrepreneurs and job creators to succeed, then we can expect an even brighter economic future for our state.”
The Lone Star Legislative Summit brings together business and community leaders to discuss issues and legislation that affect East Texas. Other topics discussed at the Summit included healthcare, energy, tourism, business climate, and education.
