First Lady Cecilia Abbott Delivers Remarks At “Can You See Me?” Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign Launch In Houston
Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott today delivered remarks at the "Can You See Me?" anti-human trafficking campaign launch in Houston. The First Lady thanked the leaders, activists, and volunteers who are committed to the fight against human trafficking, and encouraged all Texans to join together to protect the vulnerable and pursue justice.
"Texas is already a leader in the battle against human trafficking, and this campaign is an important next step. I ask that all Texans join us in the fight," said First Lady Abbott. "I have no doubt that by joining together, we can help end this inhumanity, because nothing on this earth is more powerful than Texans helping Texans."
The "Can You See Me?" campaign's series of confronting billboards that depict the most common forms of modern-day slavery will be displayed in public spaces and transportation hubs across more than 70 Texas markets beginning Wednesday, October 2. The campaign is designed to help the public to recognize indicators of human trafficking and learn how to report suspicious behavior to the National Human Trafficking Hotline and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The "Can You See Me?" campaign is a partnership between A21, the Outdoor Advertising Association of Texas, and Governor Greg Abbott's Child Sex Trafficking Team.
