Let’s All Help Rebuild Texas
Texas is only now beginning to come out on the other side of the worst natural disaster our state has ever seen. As the skies and debris begin to clear, one thing is for sure – nothing can break the spirit of the people of the great State of Texas.
I saw first-hand the heart of neighbor helping neighbor at local shelters, the compassion of stranger helping stranger in rescue efforts, and the commitment of our first responders risking their own lives to save Texans in devastated communities throughout the gulf coast and southeast Texas.
The kindness we are seeing, and the dedication to ensuring everyone is cared for in their most urgent time of need, is inspiring people across the country to participate and lend a hand in the recovery and rebuilding efforts. That is why this morning Greg announced the creation of the Rebuild Texas Fund – a partnership between OneStar Foundation and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation to help raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief. Our fundraising efforts commenced today with an inaugural donation from the Dell Foundation of $36 million.
If you would like to contribute to this effort please visit http://www.rebuildtx.org/. You can also text RebuildTX to 91999 to make a donation.
A Texas-sized disaster requires a Texas-sized response. It will take time, but with your help, we can ensure that the communities and lives devastated by Hurricane Harvey are able to rebuild stronger than before.
God Bless Texas.
