Financial Monitoring Manager – Austin, Texas
The Office of the Governor is looking for a Financial Monitoring Manager (Manager V) to work in the Office of Compliance and Monitoring.

The salary is $7,916.67 - $8,650.00 a month ($95,000.04 - $103,800.00 a year).

What You’ll Do
This position performs advanced (senior-level) managerial work. Work involves overseeing and assigning work to staff responsible for conducting financial monitoring reviews on entities receiving funds awarded/provided by the OOG. Responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and making recommendations for corrective action on reviews completed by staff. Provides technical assistance to programs on contracts, grants, and rules.
Note: this is one of two managers responsible for supervising auditors responsible for conducting financial monitoring reviews.
- Manages the day-to-day activities of staff responsible for conducting financial monitoring reviews within the Financial Monitoring Unit.
- Assists in the development of the risk assessments and annual financial monitoring plans.
- In coordination with OCM management team, oversees and develops monitoring review scope, programs, objectives, project procedures, and deliverables.
- Reviews and approves documents and reports (working papers, spreadsheets, etc.) developed by staff to support assessments, recommendations, and reports.
- Evaluates financial monitoring reviews for completeness; compliance with standards; uniformity in method; and adherence to statutes, law, agency guidance, and division procedures.
- Reviews and evaluates the impact of changes in proposed federal and state laws, as well as federal guidelines on program objectives, and advises OCM management team of potential impacts.
- In coordination with OCM management team, oversees the maintenance of TeamMate, CODgr, and other internal systems; evaluates systems for needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations.
- In coordination with OCM management team, develops and implements policies, procedures, and standards for daily operations.
- Conducts financial monitoring reviews as needed.
- Identifies job specific training needs of staff and facilitates training as feasible.
How You’ll Qualify
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, auditing, business administration, finance, or related field; and
- Five (5) years of experience in auditing, accounting, or grant management (financial), including one year of progressively responsible managerial experience.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
