The Office of the Governor is looking for a Regional Representative (Program Specialist IV) to work in the Economic Development and Tourism (EDT) - Business and Community Development (BCD).

What You’ll Earn

The salary is $5,000.00 - $5,416.67 a month ($60,000.00 - $65,000.04 a year).

What You’ll Do

This is a job that performs highly complex (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work in the West Texas region. Provides support to regional businesses, economic development organizations, local, state, and federal units of government and other relevant constituents. Promotes business lead generation and job creation, expansions, and relocation of businesses to Texas.

  • Provides consultation and technical assistance to businesses, economic development assistance staff, organizations, and related local, state, and federal units of government located in and outside the region.
  • Works with business prospects in identifying and locating financing, business sites, market and sales opportunities, and sources of supplies and raw materials in the region.
  • Works with regional economic development partners to support activities with the objective of promoting and sustaining economic growth throughout Texas.  Conducts and supports both marketing and training activities in line with prioritized objectives for the region.
  • Assists Business and Community Development with expansion and recruitment projects as needed, occasionally coordinating with businesses and regional economic development stakeholders during the engagement process.
  • Provides direction and coordination to businesses and regional economic development stakeholders in relation to the expansion and recruitment process.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with program staff in program planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of agency program(s) for the region.
  • Collects, organizes, analyzes, and prepares materials in response to requests for program information and stays informed about project performance in the region. 
  • Coordinates the marketing and presenting of programs to community and professional groups in the region to encourage interest in programs and to secure support for the programs.
  • Represents the agency at functions related to economic development activities and other OOG activities as needed in the region.

How You’ll Qualify                                       

Four (4) years of professional experience in business, economics, urban/regional planning, government, or a related field.

Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis

You’re a Great Fit with

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economic development, economics, political science, public administration, or a related field.
