Constituent Service Representative – Austin, Texas

The Office of the Governor is looking for a Constituent Service Representative (Customer Service Representative III) to work in the Constituent Communication Division.

The salary is $4,166.67 – $4,333.34 a month ($50,000.04 - $52,000.08 a year).

What You’ll Do

This is a job that performs external constituent service support. You will receive and respond to public inquiries for information and/or state services.

  • Communicate with the public in person, by telephone, by email or regular correspondence. 
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of constituent interactions and communication. 
  • Enter information into databases, processes letters to customers, and perform other general office services.
  • Review and route mail and other correspondence to policy advisors and decisionmakers.

How You’ll Qualify

Three (3) years of experience in any customer service, clerical, or administrative support work.

Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

  • Keen interest in learning about state government at the highest level.
  • Knowledge of the administration’s vision for Texas and key initiatives and policy positions.
  • College degree or college coursework completed in communications, government, political science, pre-law, business, or liberal arts.
  • Positive, customer service attitude and the ability to consistently exercise tact and courtesy. 
  • Proofreading skills and keen interest in detail are a plus.
