Federal Disaster Declaration Granted For Texas Counties

On Monday, April 25th, the federal government granted Governor Greg Abbott’s request for Individual Assistance for 4 counties affected by severe weather and flooding.

NOTE: As of May 2, 2016 the federal government granted the Governor’s request to add Austin, Colorado, Walker and Wharton counties to its Individual Assistance grant.

NOTE: As of May 9, 2016 the federal government granted the Governor’s request to add Fort Bend, Liberty, Montgomery, & San Jacinto counties to its Individual Assistance grant.

“I would like to thank the President and FEMA for quickly granting Texas’ request for Individual Assistance following last week’s severe weather,” said Governor Abbott. “The State of Texas will continue to work with our local and federal partners to aid Texans recovering and rebuilding from flood damages and ensure all those affected receive the assistance they need.”

The federal government granted Individual assistance for 4 counties following the Governor’s April 22nd Disaster Declaration: Fayette, Grimes, Harris and Parker Counties.
