Regulatory Efficiency Program Specialist – Austin, Texas
The Office of the Governor is looking to fill three positions for a Regulatory Efficiency Program Specialist (Program Specialist IV-VI) to work in the newly established Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office.

What You’ll Earn
The salary is $6,250.00 - $7,916.67 a month ($75,000.00 - $95,000.04 a year).

What You’ll Do
This position performs highly complex to highly advanced (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing divisional programs and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, government agencies, and/or the general public.
- Develops and administers programs for the Office, as assigned.
- Performs an array of technical, training, research, planning, program assessment, and administrative activities for the Office, as assigned.
- Coordinates and collaborates with program staff in program planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of divisional programs.
- Consults with state agencies to gather data and discuss program effectiveness.
- Evaluates research findings relative to specific projects being developed.
- Analyzes performance data to help ensure compliance with program policies and procedures, statutes, and rules; and recommends corrective action(s) as needed.
- Monitors and reviews compliance with requirements, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures for divisional programs.
- Develops program policies, procedures, standards, and manuals in accordance with program objectives and goals.
- Provides guidance to staff in the development and integration of new methods and procedures.
- Develops and implements effective techniques for evaluating agency programs.
- Ensures thorough completion of data and well-organized recordkeeping, including electronic and/or hardcopy formats.
- May complete and monitor required administrative and performance reports, studies, and specialized projects; and recommend appropriate changes to programs.
How You’ll Qualify
Program Specialist IV
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Four (4) years of professional experience in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, political science, public administration, or a related field.
Program Specialist V
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Five (5) years of professional experience in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, political science, public administration, or a related field.
Program Specialist VI
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Six (6) years of professional experience in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, political science, public administration, or a related field.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. Salary and position level will be based on experience and demonstrated skills.
