Texanthropy Spotlight: 2016 Governor’s Volunteer Awards

Earlier this week First Lady Cecilia Abbott served as Honorary Chair of the 2016 Governor’s Volunteer Awards. The awards – presented in conjunction with the OneStar Foundation – honored eleven of individuals and organizations from across Texas for the things they are doing to make a difference in their communities through service and volunteering.

Corporate Community Impact Award - Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Blue Corps® 
Corporate Community Impact Award for Small Business - Carmelo’s Ristorante Italiano
Community Leadership Award for Health - Medical Center of the Americas Foundation
Community Leadership Award for Family Services - Spring Branch Family Development Center 
Community Leadership Award for Disaster Response - Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team
National Service “Make a Difference” Award - Brenda Gormley
