Governor Abbott Reappoints Corna As Injured Employee Public Counsel
Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Jessica Corna of Austin as the Injured Employee Public Counsel for a term set to expire Feb. 1, 2017. The Public Counsel helps injured employees in the workers' compensation system, oversees the ombudsman program, and advocates on behalf of injured employees.
Jessica Corna is the current Injured Employee Public Counsel, a position she has held since her appointment in October 2014. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Austin Young Lawyers Association and the Junior League of Austin. Additionally, she volunteers for Doss Elementary School in Austin, Girls Scouts of Central Texas, and as a 24-Hour Marathon coordinator for the Lonestar Soccer Club. Corna received a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from Indiana University.
