Governor Abbott Appoints Four To Texas Parks And Wildlife Commission
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Anna Benavides Galo to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission for a term set to expire February 1, 2019, and Jeanne Latimer and Kelcy Warren for terms set to expire February 1, 2021. Additionally, the governor has reappointed Reed Morian for a term to expire February 1, 2021. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission manages and conserves the natural and cultural resources of Texas and provides hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
Anna Benavides Galo of Laredo is vice president of ANB Cattle Co. and is a co-trustee of her family's mineral trust. She is the immediate past president of the board of directors of the South Texas Food Bank and United Day School, and she continues to serve on both boards. She also serves on Railroad Commissioner Porter’s Eagle Ford Shale Task Force, and she is a former board member for the Laredo Center for the Arts, Border Cultural Promotion Foundation, and Webb County Children’s Advocacy Center and the City of Laredo Historic Preservation Committee. Additionally, she was a founding member and first treasurer of the Laredo Community College Education Foundation, and she was a board member and local chair of AVANCE. Galo received a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s University.
Jeanne Latimer of San Antonio is a former trustee of her family's Turkey Track Ranch in the Panhandle. She is a volunteer for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and former board member of the Amarillo Museum of Art. She also served on the Vanderbilt University Alumnae Board and as reunion class chair. Additionally, she was the Gala Fundraiser chair for St. Luke’s Episcopal School and Saint Mary’s Hall in San Antonio. Latimer received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University.
Kelcy Warren of Dallas is chairman and CEO of Energy Transfer Partners. He has received numerous awards for his outstanding career achievements and contributions toward the advancement of the midstream industry. Warren is also active in organizations outside the energy business—he serves on the board of directors of The Klyde Warren Park, The Lamplighter School, and The University of Texas at Arlington. He also supports a number of children’s charities around the country through Cherokee Crossroads, Inc. Warren received a Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Reed Morian of Houston is president and CEO of DX Service Company and DX Holding Company. He sits on the board of directors for Great Northern Properties, GP Natural Resource Partners, Natural Resource Partners, Redline Industries, and Western Pocahontas Properties. He is a member of the board of trustees for the Texas Heart Institute, Free Enterprise Education Center, and the Bayou Preservation Association. Additionally, he is a director of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and former chairman of the Houston Parks Board and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Morian received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma.
