Governor Abbott Appoints Barber To The Texas Veterans Commission
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Kevin Barber to the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) for a term set to expire December 31, 2021. The TVC serves as the state appointed advocate of Texas veterans as they attempt to secure the benefits rightfully earned in exchange for their service in our nation's armed forces.
Kevin Barber of Houston is president and founder of 95 Bravo Resources, LLC, a wholesale energy services company, founder and principal of Veteran Energy, LLC, a retail electricity provider and business development lead for Enchanted Rock, Ltd. He is also founder of the Power to Give Back program, an initiative created to provide resources to military veterans and aid in their employment. The program also drives efforts to support other local charitable organizations that provide further services to veterans. Previously, he served as regional trading team leader at Integrys Energy Services and director of Midwest Trading and Marketing at Southwest Energy. Prior to his extensive career in the energy trading arena, he earned an honorable discharge from the United States Army, where he served in the 1st Military Police Company of the 1st Infantry Division as a K-9 patrol dog handler. He serves on multiple veteran service organization boards and is a supporter of veteran entrepreneurs in the community. Barber received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany and an associate’s degree in criminal justice from SUNY-Adirondack.
