Governor Abbott Reappoints Botkin To Public Utility Commission Of Texas

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Shelly Botkin to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) for a term set to expire on September 1, 2025. PUC regulates the state's electric, telecommunication, and water and sewer utilities, implements respective legislation, and offers customer assistance in resolving consumer complaints.

Shelly Botkin of Austin has served as a PUC Commissioner since June 2018. She previously was the director of Corporate Communications and Government Relations for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, where she served for eight years. Botkin received a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis.
