Governor Abbott Appoints Carroll And Gallardo To Texas Juvenile Justice Advisory Board

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Angel Carroll and Gabrielle Gallardo to the Texas Juvenile Justice Advisory Board for terms at the pleasure of the Governor. The board advises the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division on programs and preventative solutions and submits recommendations regarding federal compliance issues and federal grant disbursements.

Angel Carroll of Georgetown is a senior at Texas Tech University pursuing a degree in Communications and English. She currently serves as a collaborative council member on the Judicial Commission on Mental Health, a Young Adult Leadership Council member for the Texas Network of Youth Services, and a board member for Texas Tech's Student Alumni Association.  Previously, she was president of the Social Work Student Organization and a member of the National Social Work Association.

Gabrielle Gallardo of San Antonio is a registered nurse working in emergency room services for Ascension Health Care. She volunteered at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home and as a coach for The University of Texas Student Veteran Service Center. Gallardo received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from The University of Texas at Austin and was honorably discharged from the United States Army.
