WEB VIDEO: Governor Abbott Outlines Legislative Priorities In State Of The State Address
Governor Greg Abbott today released a video highlighting last week's State of the State address where he outlined his emergency items and priorities for the legislative session. The Governor named five emergency items in his address to lawmakers, including: property tax reform, increasing teacher pay and reforming school finance, disaster preparedness and recovery, increasing safety at schools, and funding mental health programs.
"It is our time to chart a course that will make Texas even better — not just for the next four years, but for the next forty years," said Governor Abbott. "We have an opportunity to turn bold ideas into reality. We have the opportunity to grasp the brass ring that belongs to Texas. When we do that, we will keep Texas the greatest state in America."
