Governor Abbott Proclaims March 2025 As Women Veterans Month In Texas
Since our founding, the United States has fought against those who intend to harm our way of life. Those who seek to threaten our cherished liberty have failed and will continue to do so because of our courageous military members—both men and women—who put their very lives on the line to preserve our beloved way of life.
Indeed, women in the armed forces have borne the Stars and Stripes with the utmost dignity and grace, defending our people from the foes of freedom. These fearless women have fought and died so that we can live in peace; thus, they deserve our respect and admiration.
These women represent the very best of the indomitable American spirit, and I am proud to salute their legacy of bravery and sacrifice. I encourage all Texans to do likewise and recognize their immeasurable contributions to our society. As we pay tribute to our women veterans, we must remember these women have defended our most fundamental liberties, and for that they have earned our profound gratitude.
At this time, I join all Texans in thanking our women service members past and present. They have left their mark in the annals of human history, and their noble work has preserved the very qualities that make America a beacon of hope and liberty.
Therefore, I, Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, do hereby proclaim March 2025 to be
Women Veterans Month
in Texas and urge all Texans to observe the occasion with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto affixed my signature this the 3rd day of March, 2025.
Governor of Texas
